Call Centre Agent
Location: Newport, NP10 (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Contract: 12 Months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP (subject to DBS and security clearance)
RWR Recruitment is seeking experienced Call Centre Agent to join a busy, fast-paced customer service operation in Newport.
This is a call centre-based role where you will be responsible for handling inbound customer calls, processing information accurately, managing customer queries, and completing administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be confident multitasking, working under pressure, and delivering excellent customer service.
Due to the nature of the role, all candidates must be able to successfully pass DBS and security clearance checks.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm:
- Early Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Late Shift: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Hybrid Working
- 3 days working from home (Monday to Thursday)
- 1 day in the office Monday to Thursday
- Every Friday office-based
Key Responsibilities
- Handle high volumes of inbound customer calls.
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Process transactions, emails, requests, and customer information.
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems.
- Resolve routine queries and escalate complex issues when required.
- Work to agreed procedures, targets, and service standards.
- Support team objectives and contribute to process improvements.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within deadlines.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous call centre or high-volume customer service experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and active listening skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience handling complex customer queries.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using multiple systems.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
