As a Marine Fuels Marketer at Chevron, you will play a pivotal role in the commercial sales and marketing of marine fuels to international shipping customers. This customer-facing position is embedded within Chevron’s Global Supply & Trading organization and is essential to the success of its marine fuels business. You will be responsible for marketing physical bunker fuels, with a focus on Europe.
In addition, this role will provide support to the Renewable Products Trading team, contributing to biodiesel and renewable diesel origination activities and trade execution support. This includes collaboration with traders and originators to identify supply opportunities, facilitate transaction execution, and support the growth of Chevron’s lower-carbon fuels portfolio.
The role involves direct engagement with external customers and internal stakeholders. You will leverage market intelligence and relationships to execute spot and term sales, optimize netback realizations, and contribute to Chevron’s strategic growth in both marine fuels and renewable products.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with international shipping clients and trading partners.
Execute spot and term sales of marine fuels, maximizing commercial value.
Support biodiesel and renewable diesel origination efforts, including supplier engagement and market development.
Provide trade support to Renewable Products Trading, including coordination across scheduling, operations, and risk functions.
Monitor market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and competitor activity across both marine fuels and renewable products to inform pricing and strategy.
Represent Chevron externally in commercial negotiations and industry forums.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align on logistics, credit, risk, compliance, and renewable product integration.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in marine fuels, trading, renewable fuels, or related commercial roles.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of marine fuel markets and/or renewable fuels markets, inclusive of regulatory and compliance requirements (EU ETS, FuelEU, RED III, IMO).
Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
Effective communication skills across organizational levels and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Engineering, or related field).
Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Entrepreneurial and digital mindset.
Familiarity with biodiesel and renewable diesel supply chains, feedstocks, and trading dynamics.
Relocation will not be considered.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
