Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Payroll Officer to join our growing organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the payroll processes accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in data management, payroll systems and reports. The Payroll Officer will support maintaining employee satisfaction through precise payroll administration and data management.
Responsibilities
- Process employee payroll using systems, current system is Access
- Ensure accurate data entry of employee information, hours worked, and salary details for all employees across the Group of Companies
- Co-ordinate accounts payable related to payroll, including deductions, benefits, and tax contributions
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times
- Assist with year-end reporting and compliance documentation
- Liaise with the Human Resources team to ensure accurate entries of starters, leavers, sickness absences, unpaid absences are entered correctly
- Support human resources activities related to payroll queries and employee records management
- Analyse payroll data to identify trends or discrepancies and recommend improvements
Skills
- Experience of payroll management systems previously
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels
- Ideal to have knowledge of education, term time payroll calculations
- Experience with accounts payable processes and financial reconciliation
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret complex payroll data effectively
- Organised with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently
- Effective communication skills for liaising with employees and internal departments
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee information

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
