About SWG3
SWG3 is one of Scotland’s leading independent venues — a place where creativity, community and commerce collide. What began as a group of artists’ studios in a derelict warehouse has now evolved into one of Europe’s most credible and loved multi-discipline arts venues; a collection of atmospheric spaces alive with art, design, music, fashion, food, shopping and nightlife.
Everyone knows SWG3 for a different reason, in a slightly different way. Sweaty gigs, pulsing club nights, experimental arts performances, global brand activations, fashion shows, a studio space — the variety of what goes on here is unparalleled in the city. And, through our exciting and ambitious Masterplan, the company is continuing to grow and evolve in even more ways, becoming a major cultural destination and tourist attraction for Scotland.
About this role
At SWG3, no event happens without the Cleaning Team — they’re an essential part of how we deliver exceptional experiences night after night. As Cleaning Manager, you’ll be the person leading that department, working closely with the wider management team.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role in one of the UK’s most exciting music and arts venues. No two days look the same — you’ll be managing everything from intimate gallery openings to large-scale concerts and festivals. You’ll need to be organised, energetic, and calm under pressure, with the ability to rally a team and maintain high standards no matter what the night throws at you.
You’ll oversee the day-to-day cleaning operation across the site — rotas, staffing, supplies, and close collaboration with other departments — ensuring the venue is always ready before, during, and after events.
If you lead from the front, bring energy to your team, and take pride in doing the job well, we’d love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
- Lead from the front — this is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to work across event duty shifts and post-event cleans, ensuring the team deliver to the highest standard at every stage.

- Ensure all operations adhere to Health & Safety and infection control regulations, keeping documentation and training up to date.
- Implement efficient systems of work that maximise productivity and make best use of staffing levels.
- Manage stock levels of cleaning chemicals, PPE, and equipment, ensuring supplies are always available and procurement stays within budget.
- Oversee the reporting and follow-up of maintenance issues relating to cleaning machinery and equipment.
- Work closely with the wider Venue Operations Team to plan and coordinate cleaning requirements around the events calendar.
- Act as a point of escalation for the cleaning team, handling any issues that arise during shifts with confidence and professionalism
