About Us:
The Bear is an exciting new independent pub on the corner of Deansgate and Peter Street in the heart of Manchester city centre. Set in a 150 year old listed building the premises is being completely refurbished to create an authentic public house set over two floors with traditional Victorian style bar on the ground floor and dance hall in the basement. The business will be operated by a friendly, hard working, experienced team offering staff with plenty of opportunity for training and advancement.
About Our Assistant Manager/Duty Manager:
We’re looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic leader who thrives in a bustling pub environment. As Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the General Manager and leading the team to ensure The Bear delivers exceptional experiences every day.
4 day working week available
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the pub.
- Leading and motivating the team to provide warm, efficient service.
- Helping to oversee staff training, development, and performance.
- Ensuring the quality drink and service meets our high standards.
- Ensuring food service runs smoothly and food leaves the kitchen at the high standard required.
- Contributing to financial controls, stock management, and achieving sales targets.
- Acting as a friendly, confident host for customers and a reliable point of contact for staff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in pubs or hospitality.
- A people-focused leader who inspires the team to excel.
- Someone passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.
- Someone with experience of food service and kitchen health and safety standards.
- A detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
- Eager to grow their career within a forward-thinking and independent pub environment.
