Simson Aggregate Solutions Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in accounting and finance while gaining a recognised qualification.
This is an apprenticeship programme, combining practical, on-the-job experience with structured learning. You will receive full training and support throughout, gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting activities and financial processes.
Training & Study Commitment:
- One day per week allocated to college work (within working hours)
- One day per month attendance at college in person or via teams
- Working towards a Level 2/3 Assistant Accountant qualification (AAT)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Prepare and post accounting journals under supervision
- Carry out bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
- Process purchase and sales ledger transactions as required
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Support the finance team with general accounting and administrative duties

- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Basic IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage time effectively and work as part of a team
- An interest in accounting and finance
