We are seeking an ambitious Registered Manager to lead the development, registration and operation of our new children’s home. This is an exciting opportunity to build a high-quality service that delivers outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
The successful candidate will be fully supported by the dedicated owners and leadership team who have a wealth of experience and knowledge. You will work closely with the Responsible Individual to prepare the home for registration with Ofsted and will lead the service once registration has been granted.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for establishing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home where children feel valued, respected and supported to reach their full potential. The home will also offer onsite education for children where necessary.
You will embed a nurturing, positive culture, and ensure the home operates in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the registration of the new children’s home with Ofsted.
- Develop policies, procedures and operational systems.
- Recruit, mentor and manage a dedicated residential care team.
- Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and child-centred care.
- Promote positive outcomes in education, health, emotional wellbeing and independence.
- Build effective relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies.
- Manage budgets, staffing and resources effectively.
- Prepare the home to achieve a Outstanding Ofsted judgement.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience working in children’s residential care.
- Experience in a senior leadership or management role within a children’s home.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within the required timeframe).
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
- Experience supporting children with disabilities.
- Experience of preparing for or participating in Ofsted inspections.
- Experience opening or developing a new residential service.
