The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Barnsley College as an HR Recruitment Officer, where you will provide a first-class and comprehensive recruitment support service across the organisation.
You will play a key role in supporting the full recruitment lifecycle, from advertising vacancies and shortlisting candidates through to interview participation and appointment. Working closely with managers, you will proactively advise on recruitment processes, ensuring all procedures are followed and a professional, efficient service is delivered.
You will administer recruitment activity, maintain accurate data, liaise with agencies and external partners, and support recruitment events. You will also work alongside the HR Onboarding team to ensure a quick and smooth onboarding service is delivered.
This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who is organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities while delivering excellent customer service.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and professional individual with experience of working in a recruitment environment or in a similar relevant role. You will be confident delivering a high standard of customer service and able to build effective working relationships with managers and candidates.
You will bring strong communication skills and be confident using IT systems to manage data accurately. You will be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
You will also be a quick learner, able to adapt confidently to new systems, processes and ways of working, including HR systems and recruitment tools. You will thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, remaining organised and focused while managing competing demands and working effectively under pressure.
A Level 3 qualification, along with Level 2 English and Maths, is essential. An HR-related qualification, experience in an education setting, or knowledge of iTrent (or similar HR systems) would be advantageous.

· Qualified to Level 3
· GCSE maths and English grade A-C (or other Level 2 equivalent)
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant role.
