Role Overview
Berrys Global Innovations is seeking a practical and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our growing production team.
This is a hands-on workshop-based role focused on the assembly, testing, and quality inspection of our MIDAS fuel identification valves and associated equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with production staff to build high-quality mechanical and electronic assemblies while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.
This role would suit someone with experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or technical workshop environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Assemble MIDAS fuel identification valves and associated products.
· Build mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies from technical drawings and work instructions.
· Install components including motors, sensors, seals, connectors, and housings.
· Carry out functional testing and quality inspections on completed units.
· Identify and report assembly issues, defects, or non-conformances.
· Maintain accurate production and test records.
· Ensure products are assembled to the required quality standards.
· Assist with stock handling and component preparation when required.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
RequirementsEssential
· Experience in mechanical and/or electronic assembly.
· Good practical hands-on skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to follow assembly instructions and follow instruction SOP’s.
· Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
· Good communication skills.
· Reliable and punctual.
Desirable
· Experience working with electronic components.
· Previous manufacturing or production experience.
· Familiarity with testing and fault-finding procedures.
· Experience using hand tools and basic workshop equipment.
· Soldering experience.
· Forklift licence (not essential).

Salary
£28,756 per year depending on experience.
Hours
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
On-site warehouse/workshop based role.
Summary of Role Profile
This position is ideal for a practical individual who enjoys building products, working with their hands, and taking pride in producing high-quality equipment. Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, automotive, electrical, or engineering environments would be beneficial, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: From £28,756.00 per year
