Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee daily food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Manage food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Lead the team during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of orders to customers
- Assist with menu planning and development in collaboration with management
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control to minimise waste
- Train new staff members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Supervising experience in a culinary setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Excellent team management and leadership skills
- Proficiency in food preparation and presentation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous
- Customer service skills, including serving customers when required
