Mental Health Support Worker – Join a Growing Supported Living Service
Twyford Care Group is recruiting Mental Health Support Workers to join our supported living services in Derby.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in mental health, social care, supported living, care assistant roles, or recovery work who are passionate about helping individuals live independently.
You will support adults with mental health needs, complex needs, and vulnerable adults in a supported living environment, promoting independence, wellbeing, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mental health support and emotional support to service users
- Support with daily living skills, independent living, and life skills
- Assist individuals in accessing GP appointments, mental health services, and community activities
- Deliver person-centred care and recovery-focused support
- Maintain accurate care records, support plans, and documentation
- Work alongside social workers, healthcare professionals, and support teams
Requirements – Mental Health Support Worker
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Support Worker, Mental Health Support Worker, Care Assistant, or in Social Care
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs or challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Experience in supported living or residential care
- Knowledge of recovery-focused, trauma-informed, or person-centred approaches
Shift Pattern (Flexible Support Worker Hours)
- Day shifts: 8am–6pm / 9am–9pm
- Night shifts: 6pm–8am
- Sleep-in shifts available
- Full-time rota including weekends
- 35+ hours per week
