Role: Secondary School Teaching Assistant

Are you enthusiastic about supporting secondary-aged students and helping them succeed both academically and personally? We are currently looking for committed Teaching Assistants to work within welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across the HP13 area of High Wycombe.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant in a secondary setting, you’ll play a key role in supporting students across various subjects, helping them stay engaged and achieve their full potential. You’ll work closely with teachers to deliver targeted support, both in the classroom and through small interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a focused learning environment
- Support students with behaviour management and emotional wellbeing
- Contribute to personalised learning strategies to support academic progress
- Help prepare classroom resources and assist with lesson activities
Ideal Candidates Will Have
- A patient, resilient, and supportive approach
- Experience working with young people, particularly in a secondary or similar setting
- Confidence working with a range of abilities and needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Previous experience supporting in secondary schools
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Safeguarding or First Aid training
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
