Main Purpose:
The person responsible for filling this role would lifeguard swimming pools in varied conditions, provide continual customer support, answer exercise and leisure related queries. They would also be partly responsible, alongside the Duty Managers, for the safety and wellbeing of all site users.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lifeguard swimming pools.
- Provide emergency first aid and carry out rescues when and if necessary.
- Share their knowledge of exercise and fitness with customers who require assistance. This may include inducting new customers in the use of gym equipment.
- Provide excellent classes as a fitness instructor to customers.
- Carry out a variety of cleaning duties as required to ensure we meet all contractual obligations.
- Carry out pool testing and take remedial action when necessary to ensure chemical balance in swimming pools is within parameters and safe for public use.
- Be prepared to carry out supervisory duties in the absence of a Duty Manager.
- Keep up to date with updates in the NPLQ qualification.
- Be forthcoming with ideas which could advance the business.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience in similar role.
- Experience in working with the public.
- Excellent communicator (verbal and written).
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate and work well in a team-based environment.
- Ability to think and make quick decisions under pressure.
