Painter & Decorator – Residential Renovations | Oldham
Recruit is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and dedicated Painter & Decorator to join their team, carrying out residential renovation works to void and tenanted properties across Oldham and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes and exceptional workmanship. Initially offered as a short-term role with a minimum of two weeks' work, there is potential for the position to become long-term for the right candidate.
Position Details

- Job Type: Full-Time
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Pay Rate: £15.72 - £16.84 per hour
- Pay Type: PAYE with accrued holiday pay
- Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, with potential for ongoing work
- Overtime: Available
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding and filling holes or cracks.
- Applying paint, varnish and decorative finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
- Selecting suitable materials and finishes based on project requirements.
- Delivering high-quality work within agreed timescales.
- Communicating professionally with tenants, clients and colleagues.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Working alongside other trades to ensure successful project completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator.
- Valid CSCS Card (essential).
- Own transport required due to travel between sites.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good physical fitness and a proactive approach to work.
- Commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship.
