Looking for a meaningful, full-time role supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Complex Needs, and PMLD? We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a specialist school in Salford, perfect for candidates travelling from Salford and surrounding areas such as Bolton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students with SEN under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students and monitor their progress.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior and help create a positive learning environment.
- Support with personal care
- Support students during school activities, including outings and sports events.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to ensure effective support for students.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with Primary students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are advantageous but not essential.
- A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
- PECS or Makaton experience would be beneficial
