Position: Refuse Driver - Grade F (Driving)
Location: Stores Road, Derby, DE21 4BD
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 1+ Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: PAYE: £15.56 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive refuse collection vehicles safely on assigned routes
- Collect household waste and recycling from bins and bring them to the vehicle
- Help load waste into the vehicle when needed
- Make sure collections are done on time and in the correct way
- Follow all road safety rules and council safety procedures
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Communicate politely with members of the public and answer basic queries
- Report any problems with routes, bins, or vehicles to supervisors
- Help keep the vehicle clean and safe to use
- Work as part of a team with other drivers and loaders
Requirements:
- Must have a full UK driving licence (LGV Class C required)
- Able to drive safely and follow traffic laws
- Good communication skills and able to deal with the public
- Experience working outdoors in different weather conditions
- Able to work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Basic education (GCSE level or equivalent, including English)
- Able to follow instructions and safety rules carefully
- Previous experience in customer service or public-facing roles is helpful
- Able to supervise or support others when required
