Level 3 Teaching Assistant

An inclusive primary school in Bury is looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional who enjoys supporting children to achieve their best both academically and personally.
Working alongside class teachers and the wider school team, you will play an important role in delivering targeted support, encouraging pupil engagement, and helping to create a positive learning environment where all children can succeed.
Main Duties
- Provide high-quality classroom support across a range of year groups within the primary setting.
- Deliver planned learning activities to individuals and small groups under the direction of the class teacher.
- Lead intervention sessions designed to improve attainment in key subjects, including English and Mathematics.
- Support pupils who require additional help with their learning, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and active participation in lessons.
- Assist in monitoring pupil progress and contribute to record-keeping and assessment activities.
- Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised and engaging classroom environment.
- Promote positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour management strategies.
- Build effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers to support children's development.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and contribute to their overall wellbeing and safety.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Has previous experience working within a primary school environment.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of how children learn and develop.
- Has experience supporting children with additional needs and varying abilities.
- Can communicate clearly and confidently with both adults and children.
- Is proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Has a nurturing approach and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
