Experience in construction
Membership of IOSH
Accident Investigation training.

Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Good communication, data analytics and presentation skills
Qualification and knowledge of fire risk management in construction (desired)

STRABAG UK are seeking an highly motivated Health & Safety Advisor opportunity to join a high-performing project team within the growing Build Sub-Division.
The HSW Advisor will support the HSW Manager in driving strong Health, Safety and Wellbeing performance across the project. The role is site-based at Radlett, supporting a diverse portfolio of works including self-delivery, civils, earthworks, and roadworks.
Located at the former Radlett Aerodrome site in Hertfordshire, SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett will deliver a state-of-the-art rail freight terminal complete with extensive distribution warehouses and over 600 acres of enhanced green space.
The development aims to shift freight transportation from road to rail, significantly reducing carbon emissions and road congestion.
Construction is anticipated to take place over the next three years.
The scheme also promises numerous community and environmental benefits, including biodiversity net gain, employment and training opportunities, and integrated transport improvements
Requirements:
Support the delivery of a high-performing Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture across projects, including the STRABAG Better Together programme
Provide HSW advice and guidance to operational teams and supply chain partners
Support the planning and delivery of works to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and effectively controlled
Review and support the development of Safe Systems of Work, including RAMS, ensuring they are suitable and sufficient
Promote the reduction of risk through effective planning and implementation of controls
Monitor site activities and undertake inspections, audits, and assurance activities, producing clear reports and supporting timely close-out of actions
Support delivery teams in planning and carrying out assurance activities
Support incident reporting and investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring effective implementation of corrective actions
Develop HSW documentation, including toolbox talks, briefings, investigation reports, and improvement campaigns
Support the management of HSW data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of incidents, observations, inspections, and performance metrics
Analyse data and trends to identify risks and opportunities, supporting continuous improvement
Engage with the workforce and supervision to promote a positive HSW culture, encouraging feedback and escalating issues where required
Challenge unsafe behaviours constructively and promote high standards of HSW performance
Support the delivery of training, briefings, and occupational health and wellbeing initiatives
Build effective working relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Work with the HSW team and wider organisation to share learning and promote best practice
Escalate key HSW risks and issues to management as appropriate
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HSW systems, procedures, and standards
Maintain professional competence, including relevant qualifications and professional membership
Ability to meet the requirements of site-based working
