We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef/Kitchen staff to join our fun and friendly team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a kitchen environment as we are a small but busy kitchen. However, training will be provided.
We are looking for part time kitchen staff. Thursdays, Saturday and Friday evenings work is required as well as holiday cover hours when nessesary.
The cafe is closed on Sundays, however I would like to aim for Sunday brunch opening eventually. Cafe opening times are Monday-Saturdays 9am - 4pm, and Friday evenings 4pm-9pm, serving local cheese and meat boards. We serve an all day breakfast from 9am, Lunch from 11:30, with the kitchen closing at 3pm, as well as homemade cakes and other bakes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role within a cafe setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
