This is a 3-4 month contract role with a local authority, focused on managing the statutory assessment process for Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans. The purpose of this role is to ensure that assessments are completed within legal timescales while maintaining a child-centered approach. The position is crucial for fostering effective collaboration with families, schools, and professionals to achieve high-quality outcomes for children and young people.

Manage the full statutory assessment (SA) process from initiation to final EHC Plan.

Engage closely with children, young people, and families throughout the process.

Draft, review, and finalize EHC Plans based on professional evidence.

Collaborate with education, health, and social care professionals.

Maintain accurate records and update systems (e.g., Synergy).

Support placement decisions and ensure appropriate provisions are identified.

Represent the Local Authority at meetings with stakeholders.

Provide advice on navigating Local Offer services.

Ensure a smooth handover of cases to relevant teams.
Requirements

Experience working with children, families, or in SEND-related services.

Experience in a customer-facing or casework environment.

Experience managing competing priorities and working to deadlines.

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant area (e.g., SEN, health, social care, youth work).

Good standard of literacy and numeracy.

Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel).

Enhanced DBS required.
