Responsibilities
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring all food preparation and cooking meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Assist in the development of new menu items and culinary techniques
- Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Ensure all ingredients are prepared, stored, and utilised efficiently to minimise waste
- Collaborate with the head chef to plan menus and manage kitchen operations during service
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure availability of necessary ingredients
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of workstations before, during, and after service
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong understanding of food safety standards
- Previous experience demonstrating ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation
- Ability to lead by example, motivate team members, and foster a positive working environment
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and management
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential depending on experience
Pay: £28,800.00-£30,000.00 per year
