Are you an experienced engineering professional with a passion for developing future talent? We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Advanced Technical Trainer – Engineering to join our team at a leading college in Nantwich.
This is an exciting opportunity for an industry specialist to utilise their technical expertise to support, train, and inspire learners, apprentices, and future engineers within a dynamic educational environment.
The Role
As an Advanced Technical Trainer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality practical and technical training across a range of engineering disciplines. Working closely with curriculum teams, employers, and learners, you will help ensure students develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to succeed in modern engineering industries.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality apprenticeship training aligned with industry and accreditation standards.
- Inspire and mentor learners through engaging theory, practical sessions, and assessments.
- Conduct vocational assessments on-site and off-site across national programmes.
- Collaborate across the Engineering department to share expertise and support delivery.
- Provide ongoing guidance to apprentices and employer partners.
- Uphold health, safety, compliance, and safeguarding in all activities.
The successful candidate will:
- Industry experience in Agricultural/ Bus and Coach/ Construction Plant/ Rail operations, maintenance, or engineering.
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
- Strong teaching, training, or mentoring skills (teaching qualifications desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety standards, and qualifications.
- A passion for innovation and inspiring the next generation of rail professionals.
