An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our Catering and Housekeeping team.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines catering support, housekeeping duties, and direct interaction with residents. It is ideal for someone who understands the importance of nutrition, hydration, cleanliness, and hospitality in enhancing the wellbeing of older people.
Hours of Work
Full-Time – 5 days out of 7
Shift Pattern:
- 7:00am – 3:00pm (every other weekend)
- 8:00am – 3:00pm (weekdays)
Catering & Food Service
- Prepare breakfasts, beverages, snacks, and specialised diets in line with food safety regulations.
- Assist the Chef with the service of meals, drinks, and refreshments.
- Support residents during mealtimes, ensuring nutritional and hydration needs are met safely and effectively.
- Deliver excellent hospitality and customer service to residents, visitors, and guests.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness within kitchens and food service areas.
- Clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas using both manual and industrial cleaning methods.
- Assist with special events and promote effective communication between the kitchen team and residents.
Housekeeping Duties
Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will:
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness standards throughout the home.
- Ensure residents' bedrooms, communal areas, and visitor spaces are clean, comfortable, and welcoming.
- Work as part of a team to provide a high-quality housekeeping service.
- Build positive relationships with residents and understand their individual preferences.
- Take pride in presenting the home to the highest possible standard.
- Occasionally support the laundry department as required.
Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, compassionate, and attentive to residents' needs.
- Has a positive attitude and strong team-working skills.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
- Has good communication and organisational skills.
- Is reliable, flexible, and willing to learn.
Previous experience in catering, housekeeping, care, hospitality, or a similar environment would be advantageous. A QCF Level 2 qualification is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Additional Requirements
- Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and register with the DBS Update Service.
- Due to the rural location of the home, own transport is essential.
- Applicants must be willing to work within a strictly non-smoking environment.
- Applicants are expected to maintain a professional appearance appropriate to the standards of the home.
