Smart Repair Technician (Backshift)
Job Purpose:
Big Motoring World Group is an expanding car supermarket group that is going from strength to strength and is looking to employ a Smart Repairer back shift at our Preparation Centre Site in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast and progressive moving group as well as working alongside experienced technicians to help and support and your career development. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals with a self-motivating attitude, with an eye for detail and able to work as part of a team within a busy, fast-moving environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Carry out minor scratches by machine polishing and various cosmetic repairs to vehicle paintwork, plastic parts, glass repairs and interior fabric repairs.
- Carry out all tasks in line with your skills and business requirements, to the highest quality standards at all times.
- Maintain high standards of house- keeping
- Preparing vehicles for paintwork (including masking).
- Carrying out minor damage repairs.
- Polishing to remove defects from vehicle paintwork.
- Mixing paint to apply to vehicles.
- Applying paint products correctly and to a high standard.
- Carrying out all aspects of SMART repair to a wide range of vehicles in our workshop
- Cosmetic paint repairs working to our internal used car preparation standard
- Mixing and colour matching, painting all repaired areas to a high standard, with a polished finish.
- Keeping up to date and learning the industry standards of SMART repair techniques.
Essential:
- Must have a valid, full UK licence (Essential) - Any job offer that requires driving company vehicles is subject to a DVLA check, and applicants with six or more penalty points or a previous disqualification may not meet our insurance requirements and therefore may not be eligible for employment.
- Prior experience in SMART repair or a similar role (dealer experience an advantage).
- A sharp eye for detail and pride in your workmanship.
- Reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work as part of a fast-moving team.

Working hours:
- Monday to Thursday - 15:00pm – 01:00am
- Friday - 15:00pm – 20:00pm
