We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our team here at Forks Cafe and Bike Hire, part of Dundee Cycle Hub, by the waterfront in Dundee.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our café, provide excellent customer service to our lovely customers.
This position requires a reliable. proactive individual who is passionate about food and coffee and enjoys working in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
- Kitchen Porter duties.
- Assist in the general preparation of food items.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, providing knowledgeable information about menu items and daily specials.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, applying basic maths skills for processing payments.
- Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Make beautiful Barista coffees.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is desirable.
- Barista skills would be advantageous.
- Strong time management skills and a good dose of common sense are essential.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing orders.
- A chatty, friendly manner with excellent communication skills, capable of providing help to customers and colleagues alike.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
