Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Pub General Manager to lead The Plough Inn, towards continued success. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a proven track record in hospitality management. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing teams, and ensuring excellent customer service standards. The successful applicant will be responsible for strategic planning, staff supervision, and maintaining organisational efficiency to achieve business objectives. We are looking for someone who loves hospitality and is looking to cement a career in the industry. Working closely with a hands on landlord build something that makes people want to come to their local pub. You'll have ideas that reach a wide section on the community, with a revolving calander of entertainment, no two days the same.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the organisation’s operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning.
- Supervise and motivate teams, fostering a positive work environment that encourages high performance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase sales, optimise merchandising, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and development programmes to build a competent workforce.
- Manage budgets, analyse financial reports, and ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain excellent communication with staff, clients, and stakeholders through effective phone etiquette and organisational skills.
- Coordinate sales initiatives and promotional activities to maximise revenue streams.
- Oversee administrative functions including scheduling, reporting, and compliance with organisational policies.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all departments.
Requirements
- Proven management experience with a background in hospitality management.
- Demonstrable supervising experience with strong team management capabilities.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organised with exceptional time management and administrative skills.
- Cellar management, weekly line cleaning,
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Professional demeanour with good people skills, this is a traditional pub with a large group of regulars, being able to communicate and meet their expectations is crucial.
- a personal license is not essential but advantageous

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
