Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager specialising in Early Years to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the management of our nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education for children aged from birth to five years. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for early childhood development and strong leadership skills to make a positive impact within a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare.
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
- Lead and supervise staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment centred on professional growth and high-quality care.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children's individual needs.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children within the nursery setting.
- Contribute to the organisation of staff rotas, training schedules, and resource management.
- Support the implementation of policies related to safeguarding, health & safety, and equality.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed of current early childhood education practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting.
- Strong management and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential; further qualifications in early childhood education are desirable.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites or community engagements.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental journey.

Pay: £28,920.00 per year
