Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various machinery and vehicles, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials across our site. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, in accordance with safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Drive commercial vehicles such as lorries or trucks to transport materials between locations on-site or off-site.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and vehicles, reporting any faults or maintenance needs promptly.
- Support the organisation of materials and equipment to optimise workflow efficiency.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence recognised in the UK.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate excavators and other heavy machinery confidently.
- Proven experience in handling heavy equipment or machinery is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to vehicle operation and machinery use.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks involving lifting or manoeuvring heavy objects.
- Willingness to undertake training as necessary to enhance operational skills. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a busy operational team while expanding their expertise in machinery handling and commercial driving within a professional setting.
