Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Manage behaviour effectively and implement care plans for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a caring environment
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space
- Support clients with mobility and transfers.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is essential.
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and behavioural management techniques is advantageous
- Experience in caregiving roles involving medication administration and patient support is preferred
- Certification in first aid or caregiving training is beneficial but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving client transportation
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience working with vulnerable populations such as children or elderly individuals is an asset
