We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Butcher to join our team. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to develop specialised skills in meat preparation and butchery within a professional environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced butchers, gaining practical knowledge of food production, safety standards, and culinary techniques. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals passionate about food, keen to learn, and interested in pursuing a career in the food industry.
Duties
You will be required to:
· create inspiring, innovative, seasonally changing displays
· ensure self-serve displays in chillers are attractive and shoppable.
· share product information with the team and with customers
· fulfil all trade standards legislation
· maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
· work in collaboration with colleagues across the wider Webbs teams
· participate in stocktakes, meetings and training as required.
You’ll gain:
· a qualification in Butchery
· food safety skills
· knife skills
· understand the carcass model and all cuts of meat.
This apprenticeship provides an excellent foundation for those looking to build a career in butchery or the wider food industry. Candidates should be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to expand their knowledge within a supportive team environment.
This is a permanent contract working 32 hours per week.
The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Job Types: Part Time, Permanent
Hourly rate: £8.00 to £12.71. Salary will meet national minimum wage for age.
