Position: Support Worker
Location: Aspires Day Care Centre, King's Lynn
Hours: 19.5 hours per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Salary: National minimum wage: Structured by age and employment status as follows:
Age 21 and over (National Living Wage): £12.71,
Age 18 to 20: £10.85,
Age 16 to 17: £8.00

Aspires Day Care Centre is seeking a motivated Support Worker to support the Workshop Manager in providing work experience to our service members and offering creative ways to develop their life skills and independence.

- Proven experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong computer literacy skills
- Due to the nature of the job role, we are seeking previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
Qualifications Required:
- Care Certificate and Level 2 Adult Social Care qualification
- Candidates must hold a recent Enhanced DBS certificate suitable for this position. If you do not already hold one, we can assist you in applying for it on your behalf; please note that this will be self-funded.
Key responsibilities:
As a Support Worker, you will be part of a small team ensuring the smooth running of our workshop, supporting the meeting of contract requirements, and supporting the personal development of our service members. Your key duties will include:
- Supporting individuals in achieving their personal development goals through effective scheduling and planning.
- Ensuring the workshop area is set up and ready for the start of the morning session.
- Making sure Health and Safety jobs are completed
- Supporting the workshop Manager with ongoing stock takes of refreshments and craft supplies
- Assist in the loading and unloading of stock using a pallet pump truck and a Genie Lift
- Participation and support in ensuring contract works are completed on time
- Keeping the office up to date with all paperwork and stock movements
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is kept up to date and filed accordingly
- Assist in supporting our service members throughout the day
- Documenting accident/ incident reports
- Supporting the Workshop Manager to organise a structured timetable of events to support independence, personal development plans and life skills
- Administer First Aid
- Update service members' daily logs and meeting needs paperwork
- Coordinating work schedules and delivery/collection arrangements with contract personnel
- Ensuring daily paperwork is completed efficiently and competently, e.g. service members' care plans, personal development plans, reviews, meeting notes and contract paperwork
- Undertaking of face-to-face and e-learning training relevant to your role
Additional Information:
- Support and training will be provided to help you succeed in this role
- You will be expected to attend and support fundraising activities and events throughout the year. This may be outside of normal working hours.
