Angel UK Care is recruiting for compassionate and skilled Residential Care Workers who will provide unwavering support to our young residents. The ideal candidates will understand the complexities of trauma and rejection our young people may have faced and will be committed to fostering a safe and empowering atmosphere. Ideally, candidates should hold a QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification. However, we will also consider the right person with relevant previous experience for this role.
Position: Residential Care Worker ( Full Time ) - Location: Local to NW9
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, high-quality care and support for young people.
- Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
- Be a positive role model and maintain high standards.
- Help young people with their hygiene and daily routines.
- Accompany young people to activities and appointments using public transport.
- Help create daily programs, meal plans, activities for groups and individuals.
- Interact with young people in both group and individual settings.
- Follow safety practices at all times and have a good knowledge of the children's home regulations.
- Join in with social, recreational, and educational activities with the young people. Detailed log report must be completed throughout the shift.
- Keep accurate records, its important documents are always accurate and up to date.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the home
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for our young people.
- Show care and understanding in your interactions.
- Support young people with daily living skills and budgeting. Encourage healthy eating, exercise, and safe relationships, while addressing drugs and safety. You will complete Key work sessions with the young people on these and various other life skills. Training will be provided to you.
- Motivate young people to join local events and activities.
- Establish safe boundaries based on the Young Person’s Agreement.
- Write weekly and monthly progress reports and update the house manager.
- Work with agencies and attend important meetings like admissions and reviews.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and others involved.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated compassion and resilience.
- Commitment to serving as a positive role model.
- Confidence in appropriately managing challenging behaviors
- Flexibility to work a residential care rota, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to do overnight sleep-ins as part of the role.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team setting to support shared goals.
- Must hold a valid child workforce DBS ( preferably on the DBS update system )
- Hold a QCF/NVQ level 3 in Childcare.
- Experience as a support worker in residential children's homes.

We work with over 25 London Boroughs and outside London. We offer accommodation and care in our Children's homes for EBD children, and we offer accommodation and support in our semi-independent provisions for vulnerable young people, both sexes aged 16+. We provide practical, emotional and social skills services that enable young people to have the appropriate skills required for independent living.
This job requires more than 20hr- per week work commitment. Therefore, may not be suitable for candidates on restricted UK work visa
