Job Summary
We are seeking a Seasonal Sous Chef to join our restaurant team. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, and supporting the kitchen team during the busy seasonal period.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including supervising staff and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Support food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements.
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and plating to inspire team members.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new menus or seasonal specials that reflect current trends.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any issues promptly.
- Uphold hospitality standards by assisting with serving when necessary and engaging positively with guests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within restaurant or hospitality settings.
- Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food presentation and service.
- Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential.
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
