About Lumen Way Homes
Lumen Way Homes CIC is opening a brand-new children's residential home providing specialist care for up to five young people aged 7–17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Our approach is trauma-informed, attachment-aware and therapeutically driven. We use PACE, Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) principles and co-regulation approaches to help young people develop stability, resilience and positive relationships.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to help establish and develop our new home from the very beginning.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in creating a positive culture, supporting staff development, embedding therapeutic practice, and ensuring excellent outcomes for young people.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or existing Deputy Manager looking to be part of an ambitious new organisation with a clear social purpose.
What You Will Do
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead shifts and provide operational leadership to the staff team
- Promote high-quality care and positive outcomes for young people
- Assist with safeguarding investigations and risk management
- Support care planning, placement matching and review processes
- Conduct staff supervisions and contribute to staff development
- Ensure accurate record keeping and regulatory compliance
- Build positive relationships with social workers, families and professionals
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required
- Help drive the home towards achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience working within a children's residential setting
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH and/or SEND needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Ability to lead shifts and support less experienced staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
- Experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and attachment-based practice
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
