Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our small local team. This role involves providing specialised therapy services to children with diverse developmental and medical needs within school, home and clinic settings. The successful candidate will have access to a Sensory Integration treatment facility and frequent supervision.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of paediatric patients to identify their individual needs and therapy goals.
- Develop and implement personalised treatment plans aimed at improving motor skills, coordination, and daily living activities.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions using evidence-based techniques at school an in clinic.
- Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment programmes accordingly to optimise outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with educational staff and parents to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in accordance with clinical guidelines and maintain detailed records of treatment progress.
- Assist in the training and education of families and caregivers to support ongoing therapy outside clinical settings.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised therapy environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in paediatrics with a strong understanding of child development principles.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the SEN code of practice and the EHCP process.
- Training in Sensory Integration is highly desirable.
- Experience or training in Autism, Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, ADHD is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication tailored for children and their families.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with working in schools, having discussions with SENCO's and parents.
Pay: £35.00-£55.00 per hour
