Summary
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Waking Night staff to join our dedicated team. During night-time hours, you will be crucial in safeguarding our young people and maintaining a calm, supportive environment that promotes their development, wellbeing and emotional stability.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the safety and well-being of children and young people throughout the night.
- Provide reassurance, support and practical assistance to children and young people when needed.
- Keep accurate records of observations, incidents and handover information.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding any concerns or updates to ensure consistent, high quality care.
- Follow individual care plans and contribute to a nurturing, child-centred environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive residential team.
Requirements
- Experience of working with children in a care setting or working with children/young adults who have experienced trauma.
- Warm, patient and resilient individuals with strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and provide individualised support.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping.
- A valid driving licence.
Hours: Full time
Salary
Qualified (Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent):
- £31,880 per annum starting salary
- £32,968 per annum after successful probation
- £34,049 per annum after 1 year of continuous employment
Unqualified:
- £30,705 per annum starting salary
- £31,787 per annum after successful probation
- £32,868 per annum after 1 year of continuous employment
Additional Information:
- A satisfactory DBS is required
- Minimum 2 years residential childcare experience
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) required for qualified rate
- You must have the right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
