We are looking for an ambitious, compassionate, and experienced Registered Manager to lead our children's residential home and drive excellence in care, safeguarding, and outcomes.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and development of the home. You will create a positive and supportive culture where children feel valued and staff feel empowered to deliver exceptional care. Working closely with our Responsible Individual, local authorities, families, and partner agencies, you will ensure the home operates in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children's home.
- Ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and child-centred practice.
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people through effective care planning and placement management.
- Develop, mentor, and inspire a committed and skilled staff team.
- Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
- Manage referrals, admissions, and placement matching decisions.
- Maintain effective relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals.
- Oversee budgets, resources, and occupancy levels.
- Drive continuous improvement and quality assurance across the service.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections.
About You
We are seeking a motivated leader with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a management role within a children's residential setting.
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Strong understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Experience leading and developing staff teams.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager.
- Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
- Knowledge of therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
