Psychology Graduate – SEND School Support Role

About the Role
Forever Teaching is seeking Psychology Graduates to support children and young people within a specialist SEND school in Failsworth. You will be working with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning difficulties.
This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in education, psychology, or child development, particularly those considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with additional needs within a specialist SEND setting.
- Work on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
- Promote engagement, confidence, and personal development.
- Support teaching staff in delivering tailored learning activities.
- Help create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- A strong interest in supporting children with additional needs.
- Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural difficulties (desirable).
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
