In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
Providing first-line and second-line IT support to internal and external users through a variety of channels including face-to-face support, telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, and ticketing systems
Assisting users with troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues
Supporting the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of IT hardware including PCs, laptops, components, switches, firewalls, networking equipment, Cat6 cabling, and fibre infrastructure
Learning how to diagnose and resolve technical issues using industry-standard diagnostic tools
Supporting the deployment, configuration, updating, and monitoring of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365 services, and specialist software applications
Assisting with IT security administration including password resets, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), user account management, anti-virus configuration, and security best practices
Working within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely resolution of support requests
Accurately documenting support activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within ticketing systems
Assisting with system upgrades, hardware rollouts, and infrastructure projects
Supporting network maintenance and monitoring activities under the guidance of senior engineers
Learning how to manage and escalate support tickets effectively
Collaborating with team members to deliver exceptional customer service and technical support
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
A genuine passion for IT and technology, with a keen interest in hardware and systems
Strong problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to tackle technical challenges
Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications and networking fundamentals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Organised and detail-oriented approach to work
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
Strong customer service mindset
Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
Grade 4/C in Maths GCSE and 5/C in English GCSE is required for this programme
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
Salary of £16,000 per annum
Monday to Friday working pattern
Working hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
Baltic Apprenticeships’ IT Support Technician Level 3 programme is designed to equip apprentices with the technical and professional skills required to succeed in a modern IT support environment.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop knowledge and experience in:
IT fundamentals and troubleshooting
Operating systems and device support
Networking and infrastructure basics
Cyber security principles
Customer service and communication
Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies
Ticketing systems and IT service management
Hardware and software support processes
Your apprenticeship training will combine workplace learning with expert-led sessions from Baltic Apprenticeships to support your development and progression throughout the programme.
