Imaging Support Worker – Join Our Growing Team
We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to join our Imaging team, working across a variety of modalities—including CT and MRI—at both Basildon Hospital and our Community Diagnostic Centres.
In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in supporting high‑quality patient care. You will be responsible for preparing patients for their scans, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and comfortable throughout their visit. Maintaining a safe, organised environment will be central to your work, along with assisting the clinical team to deliver an excellent experience for every patient.
You will work closely with radiographers and the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to smooth patient pathways and helping uphold the highest standards within our Imaging service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care and keen to develop their skills. Care Certificate training is available, making this a great entry point into a career within healthcare or imaging services.

Chaperone Scans
Ensure a positive patient experience throughout the patient journey
Ensure safety and comfort of patients (before, during and after all
procedures/scans, specifically paying attention to the Oxygen requirements of our patients.
Monitor, record and report changes in patients’ condition. Acquire knowledge and skills to be able to complete relevant documentation e.g. care given and the recording of observations.
Implement the Trusts infection control policy preventing cross infection
Maintain an up to date working knowledge of Trust/local policies and procedures
Undertake Stock rotation and deep cleaning within the department
Demonstrate a professional approach to teaching junior staff.
Raise clinical incident reports as and when necessary
Report faulty equipment to the nurse/radiographer/sonographer in charge
