4 on 4 off (2 Days, 2 Nights inc Weekend and Bank Holidays)
Pay Rate:
£18.65
The Control Room Controller is responsible for having daily oversight of the Control Room, ensuring day to day operational delivery in support of the Control Room Supervisor and Site Management.
Duties include, but not limited to:
General Security:
- Familiar and knowledgeable of the site Job Descriptions of control, Front of House and Tower Officers.
- Assisting with the programming of access control cards and the checking of the appropriate authorisation(s).
- Ensure compliance with data protection/ GDPR requirements.
- Review when requested, CCTV footage and prepare for evidential purposes.
- Ensure all visitors to the Security Control room are logged.
- Ensure that all doors that are remotely unlocked are logged in the DOB accordingly.
- Act as point of contact for the Security Department out of hours and weekends whilst on shift
- Ensure that lost property is recorded and dealt with as necessary.
- Build relationships with surrounding security and police teams for the benefit of the site
- Report all potentially suspicious packages, vehicles and characters and escalate as necessary
- Carry a radio at all times whilst on duty.
Team:
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary shift paperwork for submission as necessary.
- Set professional standards of conduct and challenge any inappropriate behaviour.
- Ensure all team members are wearing the correct uniform and well presented.
- Ensure all patrols are completed and recorded.
- Proactively monitor the Lloyd's building and surround, reporting any unusual activity.
- Ensure all operatives are in compliance with SIA requirements and have license on their person.
Audits & Checks:
- Ensure weekly camera audits are completed on all cameras, summarise and action any findings.
- Ensure weekday audit's of the lift phones are completed as required.
- Undertake an audit of the red fire phones.
- Test the Fire BGU's & PA System as per instructions.
- Undertake an audit of the first aid boxes.
- Undertake an audit of the clear desk policy.
- Carry out Fire Extinguisher Audits and document.
- Carry out Box Inventory Audits as required and document.
- Complete audit's of the external doors and intercoms and document.
Main Duties:
- Ensure you use the Critical Incident Management model to deal with all critical incidents.
- Respond to incidents and situations according to site SOPs and best practice.
- Ensure CCTV surveillance and hostile reconnaissance mitigation patrols are carried out and recorded.
- Actively monitor fire systems, carry out systems testing, isolations and fault reporting as required.
- Be able to operate, communicate clearly and consisely over the site PA system when required.
- Oversee access and egress of personnel, respond and report breaches of security.
- Work as ‘one team' with all staff and service partner colleagues.
- Ensure all locations are open / closed as per requirements.
- Manage all security officers on a day to day basis, including operational and welfare issues. Escalating as necessary.
- Support the delivery of staff rostering to ensure smooth running of service delivery.
- Contribute to ways of improving service delivery to our clients and customers by not accepting the ‘norm'.
- Provide the primary first aid response for any injury or illness on site.
- Carry out any “Reasonable Request” made by Managers or Lloyd's Management.
Person Specification
- A valid SIA and CCTV License
- Security Control Room experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
