As a Works Supervisor, you will be a key part of our Rail Arboriculture team, working across rail sites throughout the Midlands and Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact on delivery sites for both internal teams and external stakeholders, overseeing all COOMBES activities/works.
- Produce accurate scoping of works, collaborating closely with the Works Manager to fully understand delivery requirements and ensure clear communication.
- Supervise, direct, and motivate internal colleagues and external labour -providing clear instruction, guidance, and problem-solving support to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery.
- Complete on-site risk assessments and report potential hazards to the appropriate teams or departments.
- Deliver toolbox talks, task briefings, and SSOW briefings as required for the delivery team.
- Provide daily activity updates and completed‑works reports to the Project Manager.
- Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure all works meet job specifications, industry standards, company policies and procedures - including all quality, health, and safety requirements.
- Carry out site duties including COSS, PIC, operative, and representative roles when required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within Rail or Vegetation Management.
- PTS certification.
- COSS qualification.
- Experience in scoping, reporting, and overseeing work delivery.
- Strong understanding and application of health, safety, and environmental practices.
