Sanctuary Personnel are proud to be recruiting for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist neurological service in Gloucester. About the Role
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred therapy. You will lead both group therapy sessions and one-to-one interventions, supporting individuals to improve their communication and swallowing abilities while promoting independence and recovery.
You will manage a designated caseload, carrying out assessments, developing care plans, implementing interventions, and reviewing outcomes in line with best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist speech and language therapy interventions for complex neurological cases
- Lead therapeutic group sessions to enhance communication and engagement
- Manage and prioritise a defined caseload effectively
- Assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders (including dysphagia)
- Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to clinical audits, service development, and research initiatives
- Apply specialist knowledge in neurorehabilitation, brain injury, and behavioural conditions
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Proven experience managing a caseload, including dysphagia assessment and treatment
- Experience working with individuals with neurological conditions
- Strong communication skills and experience supporting families
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

You will be working within a specialist neurological centre providing 24-hour nursing and therapy support. The service focuses on slow-stream rehabilitation, helping individuals maximise independence and improve their quality of life.
