Primaflow F&P have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to join our fast paced business and friendly team, where we work hard to simply deliver more for our customers and colleagues.
The role we're recruiting for:
You will Manage a team of 6 including a Transport Supervisor within a fast paced environmen driving health & safety culture , along with efficiencies through our service offering for our customers, we have a mixed fleet of vehicles from 3.5T vans to 7.5T HGVs delivering multi-drop Monday to Friday.
You will be responsible for:
● Checking/reviewing and managing health & safety and transport compliance at the site
● Planning and reviewing delivery routes to maximise vehicle utilisation/ driver usage and fuel efficiency
● Responding to changes in resource requirements
● Coaching and giving feedback to drivers to ensure compliance with current legislation and dealing with infringements promptly
● Ensure that vehicles are inspected and maintained as per the company requirements and in accordance with goods vehicle operator's licence.
● Ability to make decisions quickly, flexible and logical attitude to problems - erratic volumes, vehicle breakdowns, delays
● Knowledge and understanding of financial aspects of operating a commercial vehicle fleet - numerate and analytical
● Driven to make changes where required
● Manage all site risk assessments
● Ensure site audit scores are within the set out requirements
It would be great if you had:
Previous experience in a Transport Manager role with a strong focus on health and safety, With the ability to motivate the team, communicate effectively and improve standards and performance.
A good understanding of Transport legislation and best practise. Good computer skills which must include route optimisation, strong organisation skills and attention to detail
