Process Technician
Ongoing temporary opportunity with potential to become permanent
St Albans area
Are you a practical, hands-on technician who enjoys working in a laboratory or process development environment where no two days are exactly the same?
This is an opportunity to join a growing technical business with a great culture at an exciting stage of development, supporting hands-on laboratory and process activity within a collaborative, highly capable team.
The role would suit someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, working with equipment, following and improving procedures, and supporting experiments or process activity that contributes to wider scale-up and development work.
You will be involved in setting up, operating and cleaning down laboratory/process equipment, supporting day-to-day lab operations, working safely to SOPs, helping maintain documentation, gathering information and feeding back observations to support continuous improvement.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in a defined box. It would suit someone who is adaptable, self-motivated, practical, safety-conscious and comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and improvements are welcomed.
You will need:
- Previous hands-on experience in a laboratory, process, pilot plant, R&D or technical operations environment
- A strong health and safety mindset
- Experience working with SOPs, procedures or risk assessments
- Good practical aptitude with equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- The confidence to communicate clearly and work collaboratively
- A flexible, proactive approach
Experience with process development, pilot-scale work, materials, chemical processes, equipment troubleshooting, continuous improvement or practical mechanical/electrical tasks would be beneficial.
The role is based mainly onsite and is initially offered on a temporary ongoing basis, with potential to become permanent as the business continues to grow.
For someone who enjoys being close to the action, solving practical problems and working as part of a small, intelligent and supportive technical team, this could be a really interesting next step. Get in touch to find out more!
