About the Role
Paragon Resource Solutions are working with a local are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Registered Building Inspector (Class 2A–F) to join their growing team.
This is a key role responsible for delivering high-quality building control services across a diverse portfolio of domestic and commercial projects. You will independently manage applications, undertake plan assessments and site inspections, and ensure full compliance with building regulations and associated legislation.
You will also play an important role in mentoring junior inspectors, supporting service improvements, and contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking working environment.

37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise delegated powers under the Building Act 1984 and Building Safety Act 2022
- Manage a varied caseload of Class 2A–F building control applications
- Carry out plan checks and conduct site inspections across domestic and commercial projects
- Provide clear, practical guidance on compliance and construction safety
- Undertake enforcement and remedial actions where required
- Investigate complaints, unauthorised works, demolitions, and contraventions
- Respond to dangerous structures, including participation in out-of-hours rota
- Support higher-risk (Class 3) projects under supervision
- Supervise and mentor trainee (Class 1) and domestic (Class 2A) inspectors
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, and audit trails
- Contribute to quality assurance, ISO standards, and service improvement initiatives
- Support digital and remote working enhancements within the service
About You
We are looking for a confident and knowledgeable professional who can work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
Essential:
- Registered with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) as a Class 2A–F Registered Building Inspector
- Proven experience in a Building Control surveying role (local authority or approved inspector)
- Strong working knowledge of building regulations, legislation, and compliance frameworks
- Experience managing a caseload of Class 2A–F projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to interpret and apply regulations in a practical, solutions-focused way
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and workload effectively
- Confident using Microsoft Office and Building Control systems
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites
Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma (LABC or equivalent)
- Membership of RICS, CABE, or CIOB
- Knowledge of BS 9999 / BS 9991, PACE, and Health & Safety legislation
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
