Bell, a leading property services contractor, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Fire London team. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of multiple projects, helping to ensure financial performance, contract compliance, and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of commercial functions across multiple projects
- Support the preparation and analysis of costings, budgets, valuations, and tenders
- Monitor project progress and manage contract variations
- Work closely with site teams, clients, and senior Quantity Surveyors to ensure commercial success
- Maintain accurate financial records and support with monthly valuations and final accounts
- Assist with credit control and financial monitoring where required
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and up to date
Essential Criteria
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to identify both numerical and grammatical errors
- Excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- A solid understanding of financial and contract documentation
- Basic Quantity Surveying knowledge and commercial awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, resilient, and confidential approach to work
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable Criteria
- Credit control experience
- Experience within the construction or property services industry
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
- Relevant qualifications in Construction or Quantity Surveying
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
