Job Overview
Our client, a growing logistics company, is looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of palletised goods across various locations while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high safety standards. You'll be driving a brand-new Scania vehicle on this role.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 1 HGV lorry, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey checks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload palletised goods safely, ensuring all loads are secured before transit
- Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Follow planned routes efficiently while adapting to any unforeseen circumstances or delays
- Keep the vehicle clean and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Comply with all legal requirements related to driving hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety standards
Requirements
- A valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence, Driver CPC qualification, and Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- A strong focus on safety and compliance
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
Pay: From £38,000.00 per year
