Located, on Ocean Boulevard, the Big Blue Hotel are now seeking a talented and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our dynamic hospitality team.
As a Chef de Partie, you will play a critical role in our kitchen, responsible for managing a specific section and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present food items in accordance with the menu specifications and quality standards.
- Manage and oversee a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations during service.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement creative dish ideas and seasonal menus.
- Ensure all ingredients and dishes meet hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and equipment used.
- Train and support junior kitchen staff, including commis chefs and apprentices.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimize waste.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Assist in controlling food costs by minimizing wastage and managing portion control.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Passion for food preparation, creativity, and continuous learning in the culinary arts.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
