Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Skip Driver (class 2) either full/part time to join our growing family friendly business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of skips, ensuring timely service across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery operations to utilise their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and specialised skip vehicles to transport waste containers between sites.
- Safely load, unload, and secure skips to prevent movement during transit.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery schedules.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, collections, and vehicle logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules and any delays or issues encountered.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or skip lorries (minimum 2 years experience)
- Digital Tachograph card
- Full CPC holder
- Knowledge of current road safety regulations and best practices in vehicle operation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Physically fit to handle loading and unloading tasks as required.
- A responsible attitude towards safety and environmental considerations.
Simple & Straightforward shifts with degree of flexibility offered depending on Full or Part Time Hours.
Based in LS12 area covering Leeds post codes.
Pay: £12.21-£25.00 per hour
